Born in Cannes in 1997, John Gade is a French pianist, violinist and composer. Winner of numerous international competitions, he is notably First Prize of the International Scriabin Competition and Ambassador of the Banque Populaire Méditerranée Foundation.
Trained with major piano personalities such as Bruno Rigutto, Denis Pascal, Frank Braley, Igor Lazko and Misha Katz, he continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris as well as at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv. His career is also enriched by the advice of Philippe Bianconi, Bertrand Chamayou, Ivry Gitlis and Khatia Buniatishvili.
His talent is quickly distinguished by numerous awards: First Prize of the Virtuosos of the Heart in Paris in 2017, winner of the International Competition of Hauts-de-France in 2018, Grand Prize of the Ravel Academy of Saint-Jean-de-Luz in 2019, Grand Prix Alain Marinaro at the Collioure International Competition the same year, as well as First Prize at the Albert Roussel International Competition.
Passionate by the world of Alexandre Scriabin, he dedicated his first discographic recording to this composer, Opium, published by Scala Music. He then continued his collaboration with the label alongside the violinist David Moreau, with whom he recorded Memento, an album devoted to the world of Schubert.
Invited on numerous stages and festivals, John Gade performed notably at the Chopin Festival in Bagatelle, at the Lisztomanias in Châteauroux, at the Nuits Musicales du Suquet in Cannes, at the C'est pas Classique festival in Nice, at Piano en Valois, at the Festival Esprit du Piano in Bordeaux, at the Maeght Foundation as well as at La Seine Musicale. He also plays under the direction of conductors such as Philippe Bender, Jean-Jacques Kantorow and Misha Katz, with whom he performs Rachmaninoff's Second Concerto alongside the Moldavian Philharmonic Orchestra.
A composer from an early age, in 2014 he wrote several works intended to accompany Charlie Chaplin films during the Films en Concert festival in Lambersart. His activity also leads him to perform in prestigious places such as UNESCO or the Palazzo Farnese in Rome, where he is invited to play in front of the French Ambassador to Italy on the occasion of the opening of the French presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Invited by Paolo Fazioli to Sacile, he has the opportunity to play on the emblematic instruments of the famous Italian manufacturer and performs regularly in the Nolinski establishments in Paris and Venice.
In parallel with his concert career, John Gade transmits his passion to the Alexandre Scriabin Conservatory and to the Schola Cantorum in Paris, where he is the assistant of Igor Lazko. A complete artist, he develops an approach to the piano nourished by French tradition, the demands of the international scene and a deep curiosity for creation.
