Soraya Verdier pianiste

Classically trained, Soraya Verdier began playing the piano at the age of 4 before training with Michel Denis, Gabriella Torma, Yves Henry and Milosz Magin.
She continued her studies at the École Normale de Musique de Paris (Victoria Melki class), where she obtained the Higher Diploma in Performance in 2002, then at the Mozarteum in Salzburg in the classes of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Pavel Gililov, where she obtained a Bachelor (2008) and a Master "with honors" unanimously (2012).
She perfected her skills in master classes with Jean-Marc Luisada, Dominique Merlet, François-René Duchable, Janusz Olejniczak and Galina Egyazarova.

Laureate of numerous national and international competitions (Cziffra Foundation, Claude Kahn Competition, UFAM, Fryderyk Chopin Society of Texas, Flame Competition, Milosz Magin International Competition, Hildegard Foundation Maschmann, Rotary-Rotaract Ramon Llull, Salzburg Mozart Competition), she leads a career as a soloist and chamber musician which takes her to perform in Europe, the United States and French Polynesia. She is notably invited to festivals such as Nohant, Chopin à Gaming, the Palais de Saint-Petersburg, Narnia, Aukso (Poland), Beaujolais en musique or Cantura.

As a soloist and within ensembles, she collaborates with groups such as the Chopin Academy Orchestra of Warsaw, the Cannes Orchestra, the OSPA (Asturias Symphony Orchestra), the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, the Musicatreize Ensemble and the Fuoco Opera company.

In parallel with her concert activity, she develops multidisciplinary artistic projects. She is the musical director of the company Les Joyeux de la Couronne and composes the incidental music for L’Empereur des Boulevards (2020). In 2019, she founded the Amethysta trio with Claire-Elie Tenet and Julie-Anne Moutongo Black, with whom she regularly performs on tour and on Parisian stages.

Very invested in creation and intercultural projects, she collaborates with the Kalinago ensemble around a cantata dedicated to Toussaint Louverture, as well as with artists from other musical traditions, notably as part of the project Asakvile Part I (2023) with the Haitian percussionist Franck Désiré, or with the Iranian singer Hengameh Bertschi. She also designed several recital programs with opera singers, includingFuego! Spain seen from Paris, La Belle Maguelone by Brahms or At the Movies.

Committed to the dissemination of classical music, she founded the Arts&Music association and participates in numerous cultural and social actions (hospitals, EHPAD, priority neighborhoods), in collaboration with structures such as Pepita Productions, CALMS or the company La Lune dans les Eyes.

She recorded Milosz Magin's Concerto No. 2 in 2003 (Acte Préalable label) and participates in various media projects, notably on France Musique.
At the same time, Soraya Verdier teaches piano at the CRD in Nanterre.
