Paul Gaugler is a French tenor, graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. He perfected his skills at the Royaumont and Ambronay Academies, as well as with Ludovic Tézier and Viorica Cortez. He is a winner of the Armel Opera and Vincenzo Bellini competitions.
It covers a vast repertoire covering Italian and French grand opera, Germanic repertoire and contemporary creation. He notably performed Radamès (Aïda) and Pollione (Norma) at the Chișinău National Opera, Don José (Carmen) at the Lviv National Opera, Faust (La Damnation de Faust) as an understudy at the Glyndebourne Festival, as well as the title role of Dante at the Lviv Opera. In concert, he notably performs Verdi's Requiem and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Saint-Étienne Opera, Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle with the Münchner Symphoniker at the Invalides, as well as recital and gala programs at the Institut de France, the Bordeaux National Opera and at the Bastia Opera. Paul Gaugler has sung under the direction of conductors such as Sylvain Cambreling, William Christie, Paul Daniel, Lucie Leguay, Laurent Petitgirard and Michael Schønwandt, and has collaborated with directors including David Bobée, André Engel, Louise Moaty and Justin Way.
He also appears in the cinema in the soundtrack of the film Tenor by Claude Zidi Jr.
